What is a soft pull or soft inquiry on my credit score?

A soft pull or soft inquiry is a check on your credit report. These can be done every 30 days without any impact on your credit score, and will not remain on your credit report for any long amount of time.

One or more soft pulls may be performed when you request loan offers on SuperMoney's loan offer engine.

You may get adverse action letters from lenders that indicate that your credit was pulled but these are required by law and do not indicate that a hard credit inquiry occurred.

When you select a partner financial institution's prequalified offer, they will have you submit a full application to complete the process. This may include a hard pull on your credit report, which may lower your credit score slightly and will stay on your credit report for up to two years. This process is normal, however, and will only happen when you have selected a partner to proceed with.
